Description

A sterling silver compact with mirror.
Rectangular shape with engine turned design.
Mirror supplies with a wiper which cleans it automatically
during lifting and closing lid, please see photos.
All devises and hinges are secure.
Engraved to the cover with "Dixie" into oblong cartouche,
(a popular name in 1920's.-30's.)
Hallmarked inside:
"Sterling" for .925/1000 silver purity.
"Dunhill" for maker Alfred Dunhill;
"Clearview" for model;
"U.S. Pat. 2145035" - this number used in 1939.
Tarnish/patina and blemishes on box exterior and on interior fabric pad.
